SO? is the brain child of Marc (Rambo) Whitman and Steve Baxter. With a wealth of promotional knowledge between the two of them and a healthy love of the club scene, it's easy to see how they have made SO? The success it is today.

"Steve and I wanted to create a night we would be happy to pay to get into. We are always trying to out do ourselves at each event as we feel that we are the market leaders in this area. But in order to stay ahead of the game we can't just sit back and expect people to walk through the doors at our events. Getting SO? to where it is today has been a long hard slog for both of us, created allot of rows at home and turned more of my hair grey. but speaking for both myself and Steve we have loved every minute of it" Says Rambo.

Steve was best known as a DJ and co-promoter and ran a highly successful Saturday night at the Square Bar in Camberley. Rambo who has been promoting events since 1993. "The best years of my life were spent in The London Astoria, The Rocket and Busby's, it seemed like the next logical step to try promoting myself as it was something I had always wanted to do." his first events were with best friend Peter Kent and took place at the Agincourt in Camberley. The events were called "Porky Moonboots" and very quickly out grew The Agincourt and moved to Simpson's in Bracknell including two all nighters a month.

Rambo is best known for having a then little known DJ called Sonique as a resident. It was in fact at a Porky Moonboots night that she was signed up by Judge Jules' brother Sam who is head honcho at Serious Records and look where she is today!! Rambo was also heavily involved with the promotion of super club "The Manor" , culminating in 1997 when he took three coaches for the last New Years Eve celebration before the club shut in 1998. It was by chance that Rambo phoned Steve last February, he had been planning a charity event to raise money for Cancer Research and The NSPCC and new that Steve had been making waves in the club circuit so decided to ask for his help. Steve jumped at the chance, he had been wanting a crack at a bigger event and even had the name for the night, and so SO? was born.

"SO? is mine and Rambo's baby" says Steve "my girlfriend Emily finds it funny that I spend more time on the phone to Rambo than I do to her. I think Rambo will agree that we spend more time thinking about SO? than anything else". The first event featured Sonique and raised £4500 for the two named charities. Then in September last year the night launched on a monthly basis with regular Residents, Jack 'n' Daniels, Daryl Connor and Antonio alongside high profile guests such as Timmi Magic, Judge Jules and Mikie B. Christmas 2004 saw the launch of bi-monthly Hed Kandi events. Then in February 2005 they turned the club on its head by introducing a third room and installing Sublime Soul as its residents. Not only that, March 2005 saw the launch of the SO? Sessions nights at exclusive venues in the local area, and anyone who missed the Summer boat party in July 2005 will have heard it was fantastic and I'm sure will be gutted.

The future is looking bright for SO? Steve and Rambo have just signed new main room resident Leigh Parsons and with lots more planned for the future we hope you all come along for the ride, believe me it will be good!!

We are also very interested in hearing from local dj's and people who think they can add value to a SO? party whether through playing, promoting or something else. If you think you can please get in touch (details on the contacts page)
